Catalina Island

Supposedly this new Blogger interface is easier than ever but I'm not sure what is going on.  Anyway... went here with Mom and Robert a few weeks ago when they were visiting California.  Catalina is basically a caricature of a beautiful island.  And the place is a ghost town by the time the last ship leaves back to Long Beach.

If I go back again it'll be for something a little more adventurous.  I bet the camping is amazing.

Point Mugu State Park

Which apparently is pronounced "Ma-goo" although I refuse to accept it. There was this thick fog almost the whole time which rolls off the Pacific Ocean and right into the valley where we camped. Fortunately we were able to climb up out of it during the day and see the blue sky.

You can run from civilization, but you can't hide.

The fog was really beautiful but kind of a bummer because there was a meteor shower that we ended up missing because of it, even though we hiked an hour uphill in the middle of the night to see it.

Gainesville

When I went home to Florida in December I went to a State park in Gainesville. I can't remember the name of it now, unfortunately. There were a bunch I took like this but I just love the colors. I didn't even put it in Photoshop. Straight from the camera to the internet. Full size.

This cat was also there.
